Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Bought tickets this morning for Mary Poppins tonight! :)
Then we caught the subway to Canal St and got our names painted all fancy by a street artist.
After that we caught the subway back to midtown and went in the 'Rock of Ages' ticket lottery. Me and Britt were the first two names called out :)

Between the lottery and the show we had lunch in Times Square and bought a few things from a tourist shop.
The show was a lot of fun!

We went home for dinner and then went to Mary Poppins! I love this show so much. We ended up with the best seats! I love Laura Michelle Kelly (Mary). She's amazing!

After the show, as a part of a charity thing we got a backstage tour! woooohoooo! We got to go on stage and meet Michael and Jane Banks and also Bert and Mary! It was so awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Turns out Laura is the nicest person on the planet.

....... There are soooo many people around wearing Halloween costumes! It's like the world's biggest dress up party!
I CANNOT WAIT FOR TOMORROW!
We get to see our friends again and have a big halloween/thanksgiving celebration.yay! It's going to be the best day :)

Friday Oct 29th.

Started the day by walking through Central Park and up to Strawberry feilds to look at the big 'imagine' on the ground'.

We strolled through Central Park for a while. It was so beautiful! All the leaves have started to fall. I can't believe how much it's changed from the last time we were here, only a few days ago.

After Central Park we stopped at a Deli for lunch, then wandered down to 33rd street. On the way we stopped at Bryant park and looked at the ice skating rink.
(the view looking up from Bryant Park)

We also stopped at a few shops along the way and the big LOVE sign, then made our way into Kmart where we all bought extra suitcases, to fit all the stuff we've bought.

We caught the subway back home and made ourselves dinner.
Then we walked to 44th and saw 'Women on the verge of a Nervous Breakdown'. It's a new musical starring Patti LuPone, Sherie Renee Scott, Laura Benanti and Brian Stokes Mitchell.

When we got home we found that our friendly (not) apartment mouse had caught itself on one of the glue traps we set up. grossssssssss! It was the most disgusting thing ever! None of us could look at it. Brittany was nearly throwing up. We deliberated for, what felt like hours, on how to dispose of it. I ended up throwing a towel over it, picking it up and throwing it into a bag, then we took it to the basement. So disgusting.

Anyway, a bit of an eventful end to the evening.

Thursday is Wicked Day :)

Spent ages this morning deciding what shows to see when. There are more shows we want to see than there are nights. so inconvenient.

We left the apartment and walked down to the Gershwin Theatre and picked up our tickets for Wicked tonight. :)
We then headed to the Rockerfeller Centre/plaza. There was an ice skating show on, which was great. Amazing ice-skaters!

We had a little look in the NBC experience store and then sat outside and had our lunch. While having our lunch two NBC employees approached us and asked us if we wanted to be in the studio audience for a show called 'The Dr Oz Show' - he's Oprah's doctor who now has his own show. We didn't have any concrete plans for the rest of the day so we went to the taping of the show.

That went 'till about 5:30, so afterwards we just wandered home, made ourselves dinner and got ready for the show.
The show was absolutely fantastic!... as expected. And Mandy was perfect!... as expected.
Brittany had the biggest bitch sitting next to her. She was so rude. Didn't even come back for Act 2. What the heck. Who leaves Wicked??? geeez.
After the show we had a good chat to Alex, who played Boq. And we caught up with Mandy again.
It was such a great night.

Wednesday: 2 shows and a shopping spree.

Firstly, found out this morning that 'In The Heights' has set a closing date. :( Devastating news :(
Anyway,
This morning we walked to the Winter Garden Theatre and bought tickets to the Mamma Mia matinee.
We then went shopping in the GIANT Forever 21 store on Times Square. About 2 and a half hours, and hundreds of dollars later, we had to leave to go to the show. The show was so much fun and it was an awesome theatre.
After the matinee we went back to Forever 21 and spent more money. sorry bank account.

Had dinner at the big McDonalds on Times Square which was a bit exciting. It really cool inside - all the walls are painted like the city.

After dinner we went to see The Phantom of The Opera, which of course was really good! :)

...Also today it was soooooo hot! 90% humidity.gross.

Relaxing Tuesday.

Today was our designated day to relax :)
Had a huge sleep in then walked down to 34th street. Went to Kmart and bought some Halloween costumes.. then to Borders where I spent about $200. oh geez.
Between the three of us we bought 8 box sets of various tv series, among other things. solid effort.
After our shopping spree at Borders we stopped at a $1 pizza place for lunch, then up to 'In The Heights' for the ticket lottery.....which we won :)
Between the lottery and the show we wandered up to the 'Neil Simon Theatre' where it was opening night of 'Rain' (Beatles tribute show) on Broadway. We saw Chris Brown. And also Chita Rivera. I dislike Chris Brown.
So we had front row for In The Heights and it was fantastic, of course. I love this show so much! :)

Monday, Monday, Monday.

Started off with a bike ride around Central Park :).
We rode around for just over 2 hours, stopping for lunch in the middle.

We later found out that Taylor Swift had a free concert in Central Park this arvo.... so glad we missed that.NOT!!!! damn it!

Anyway, after that we caught the subway down to 34th to do a tour of Madison Square Garden,  but found out all the tours are temporarily cancelled. bummer. So we started walking back uptown. Stopped at shop with a super flirty guy. like geeeez don't hold back.haha. Then went to the Phantom of the Opera box office and got tickets for Wednesday.
Stopped at the famous Juniors for some chocolate mousse cheesecake. yummmm :)
Did come shopping in a brand new shop called Aeropostale and then Toys R Us.
                              (Me and lego Buzz Lightyear)

We went to Planet Hollywood for dinner which was great! It's basically just an awesome restaurant completely filled with memorabilia from everything...movies, tv, broadway shows. everything :)
Our waiter Johnny was the best.
(number plate from the 'Speed' bus)

                              (Sara Ramirez's dress from Spamalot)

(Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet's outfits from Titanic)

                                       (...and my dessert)

"Cheese and Crackers"..... and thanks to Sara B!

The day started by catching the subway to 34th st where we met up with Amanda and Sara. Two of my fave people :)
We wandered uptown and bought tickets for the matinee of 'Next to Normal'. While I was buying my ticket Lauren came running towards me saying "Grab the camera" - I looked outside and Susan Backwell was there. I can't explain how exciting this was for me. She is definitely in my top ten favourite people of all time.
i.love.her.

Anyway, after our awesome chat with her, the five of us went for lunch at a pizza place. so yum. Had some hilarious conversations about our differences in culture. Explaining cricket was a challenge but hilariously fun.
(diagram of a cricket pitch)

After lunch we wandered up to Times Square where there were some street markets.
Went to see Next To Normal at 3pm and it was fantastic. A seriously brilliant show! I absolutely loved it!

After the show we met up with Sara's friend Bob and the six of us went for dinner on 46th street at a cute little Italian place.
Afterwards we walked uptown to our apartment stopping on the way for chocolate covered pretzels.....DELICIOUS!!! :) We all hung out in our apartment for a couple of hours, sharing various stories and once again comparing odd cultural differences. I feel like we all have the most fun together. These people are seriously the best people:) We laughed so hard! I was having the best time. Cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard.
What a perfect night!

I would like to thank Sara Bareilles for bringing us all together.haha.

Thrilling Saturday!

This morning we went on a tour of Carnegie hall, which is a big theatre type venue. It was originally built in the 1800's and it was so beautiful!
Our tour guide, Beverly, was hilarious! She was the funniest old lady ever :)

Afterwards we went home, got all our stuff together and headed to the Port Authority Bus Terminal where we caught a bus to Hellertown, to take part in 'Thrill The World' in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania!
Our friend Amanda, who we met at the Sara Bareilles concert a week ago, was the organiser and she invited us down... so we went.
From Wiki: "Thrill the World is an annual international dance event and world record breaking attempt, in which participants simultaneously emulate the zombie dance seen in the music video of Michael Jackson's "Thriller".
It was sooooooooooooo much fun!!! What a great night!
